Best Eualizer Settings For Car Audio?

Question:
I have a Sony XPLOD Head Unit. It has EQ presets such as "XPLOD" "Gravity" and "Cruise." So it does not necessarily a "Rock" setting. I can create a custom EQ with Low, Mid, and Hi from -10 to +10. Whatever i try i cannot get it to sound good. Any hints? I know Low is bass, but i have no idea how it should be configured with all 3.

sorry dude, this is just one of those things you have to figure out for yourself. it may sound like crap to you, but it may sound great to me. granted it probably wouldnt, i'm just saying that to let you know that your tuning it to your ears. the way i tune a eq is find a setting i like the most. then i tune it up or down from there, one thing at a time. i do this at loud volume so i can hear what part of the music i'm bringing out.

For one, the sub shouldn't even have vocals coming from it. Be sure the LPF on the amp is ON and set so the highest frequency going to the sub is just below the highest frequency in the specs for the subs.
