Question:
.i need to get rid of the bass from my 6x9's im pushing alot of power now and i'm sending the same amount of bass to my 6x9's as i am to my tens. should i get high pass filters? is that what those things are called? i have a couple i bought off a friend but i dunno if they're no good or if they're just eliminating some of the bass but it still sounds like sh*t. i've had them for a bit so they might not be any good anymore. i can't ask that dude cause he aint around anymore. anyway thanks for any help

Yes, you'll need passive high pass filters for your 6X9's. Be sure they can handle the RMS watts going to the 6X9's. Try to find some that block anything 200Hz and below.
