Answers:
I bought this car and the car stereo is all screwed up?
no when you in stall a amp you adjust it to a level to match your subs and tuner. for instance. you tune up the tuner to half volume and then your amp all the way down. adjust the bass on your tuner for best bass sound then turn down the volume to normal listening and adjust your amp up until the bass is at the max or best sounding not the hardest and slowly turn up your volume and adjust your amp for best sound as you increase the volume.also if your box is to small or the ports are too big.also does your amp have a built in crossover and is it bridgeable. if want bridge it with both subs in series. it will hit harder and the amp will not stress the is the most common for subs to burn up or rip. the ohms are to unstable or high and over work the subs.Whats an inexpensive but good car/truck speakers and subwoofers?
Need more details on your setup to give you a good answer. Need model numbers of amp and subs to determine the correct wiring for them so that your ohms are correct for the load you are putting on everything. And like the other guy said, and what I know about Sony amps, it may say 1000 watts, but it really isn't, don't let the advertising fool you.Does JBL make good car speakers?
I don't know what your setup is, with more info I could tell ya. But don't listen to the idiot who says it is better to over power than under-power. Food for thought, when you turn the volume down on your subs, you are actually reducing the power (the watts) your subs get. Now any genius can think a sec and realize that, if under-powering your subs is bad, then you will never be able to turn your system down. That Jason guy needs to learn more about audio before giving bad advice. Back on track though, it could be a couple things. The drivers in Sony subs aren't the best and the never print the actual stats of their equipment. Let us know what models you have and we can go from there. Lastly, distortion DOES NOT BLOW SUBS OR CAUSE CLIPPING. Clipping however can blow a sub.More Questions & Answers ...
