This will provide constant power to the strobe lights whenever the alarm is going off, without overloading the alarm's siren circuit. You probably wouldn't have a problem if you just tapped the strobe directly into the siren output, but a relay is safer.

Connecting to the parking light output would work too, but the parking light output will be flashing when the alarm goes off, not producing a constant output.

it depends on the wiring that your alarm has but i have a phoenix digital alarm and it has 2 leads coming off the brain for the lights so i used 1 lead for parking lights and i used the 2nd lead to hook up to a network of strobes (2 in headlights,2 in back up lights ,1 in front windshield and 1 in interior light )

If you're installing a strobe light into your car i suggest to keep it inside or do what i did for a customer, he had bought a 2 thousand dollar navigation system and did not want to lose it, so we installed some high power directed strobe light from the heating and cooling vents. We used similar idea with the relay and the siren output. But please test the output for the siren to make sure its a constant 12 volt in operation (disconnect the siren while doing this) because some alarm system will cycle thru this therby turning it on and off every few seconds. Do not put strobe light on the exterior of the car as its pretty much illegal in most places as the local cop will not like it. In my city, the cops will impound your car if it has external strobes and is on public property because it "intimates" police cars.
