Why do I get hollow sounding bass through my car audio woofers?
The best basic navigation system for any vehicle is still a good map. Electronics are fun, but prone to interference, malfunction, and sometimes, a steep learning curve., not to mention a possibly dangerous distraction while driving. As a professional over the road driver, I use the electronics as a backup, but the map provides 90% of the information I need. Get a map of the city, and use the month to learn the main roads, then plan your route before starting your vehicle. Those of us sharing the road will appreciate your attention to your driving, really - stay safe out there.I like Alpine's screens and navigation, but they're expensive. Pioneer has a really nice one (Avic-N2). Both of those replace your radio. An affordable alternative would be an add-on Alpine Blackbird or a Garmin Streetpilot.
