I have one 12'' rockford fosgate t112d2 power in a obcon dual ported box and with 500 watt mono rockford power amp and it is hiting at 148db in a grand cherokee. ask any one who know anything about db and they will say 148 is really loud so you can get good sound with one.hi. your question asks for an opinion. mine is that it is good as you said, or to put it another way it is strictly middle of the road. dual is a price oriented mass market brand sold by many big box stores such as best buy. higher quality brands such as kicker pioneer and alpine certainly offer better performance, but at a price. i won't lie. i am very partial to kicker, not only because of the sound and power handling ability, and strong warranty, but they also seem to last. the most important thing, in my opinion, is how hard you are going to work, or punish the speakers. mr. cerwin and mr. vega said it best back in the 60's when i entered this business. " loud is beautiful if its clean" so my advice is give whatever you are going to buy a good workout ( crank them) in the store before you buy them. one thing to consider is the matchup between the amp and the speakers. your sysem will be only as good as its weakest link. good luck.
