2003 BMW M3 Radio Problems after installing new battery?

Question:
So I installed a new battery on my '03 M3, and since then, my radio will freeze for about 5 seconds about 4-5 times while I am on a short drive. During that time I cannot shut it off, change stations, etc. At first I thought it was my CD skipping, but I get the same problem with my radio. what's going on?

sometimes without removing fuses to the radio a surge will circuit the system even by chance through the ground connections ... its possible you short cicuited the radio.. small electronic chops will repair it for pretty cheap or if its under warrenty just give it to them and let them deal with it
