Anyone know were I can get a CD player kit/fitting for my 87 Cadillac Brougham?

ok well the rating depends on how it is advertised, technically it is suposed to be set per sub...so 500 watts rms is for that one sub and that is what you want to go by unless stated otherwise...peak power for a system is the worst rating to go by beacause it means absolutelly nothing, it is a rating that is basically good for one second of power sub pushes and that craps out, you want to go by the rms....now as for the ohms, this is important in matching the amplifier with the subs, try to stay with me, 2 ohm sub works best with 2 ohm stable amp (this should be listed in the specs) but you can hook it up with 4ohm stable amp but you most of the time cut your power by half when doing that. that is why for example it will say 2ohm rating 400 watts rms 4ohm rating 200 watts rms, so in this case you will get the best result by paring it with the 2ohm stable sub, but make sure your sub is able to put out 400 watts or slightly more. another thing to be carefull with NOT ALL AMPS ARE 2OHM STABLE but you can find this out by either asking a salesperson or reading the tag....hope i helped
