Can I change the shape of the square port for my subwoofer box or should I keep it the same as the manufacture

Question:
I am planning on porting a box for a MA Audio 150QS subwoofer. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_5057...
The box needs to be 3.75 cubic feet with either a 6x8" round port or a 3x8.25x8" square port. Well i cant find any 6x8 PVC where i live so i am going to make the square port. But my qustion is, can i change the 3x8.25 part of the square port to 4.5x5.5 (3 x 8.25 = 24.75),.. (4.5 x 5.5 = 24.75). I will keep the 8" long. I just want to change the shape of the port to mor of a sqaure than a rectangle, will that be ok as long as i keep the same port area?

Static in car Radio?

WHen you do the formula, and the dimensions you get-You should stick with, just to meet with the requirements of the subwoofer for it to play Just right for you, and get the low frequencies you want. Try not to adjust it, but if you have to, go right ahead, but if the quality is ruined, don't be surprised
