For my 2 ten inch subs am I better off with a mono block or 2 channel amp and why?
first its how much power do you want? what kind of vehicle you have and what kind of music do you listen too?an amp is what it is an amplifier. audio freaquency comes from your radio in low voltage watts. now subs are these huge speakers so your radio is gonna be able to power those things. an amp draws power from your battery directly to give it power the radio send the low fequency (the music) to the amp. so power pluse music is MORE POWERFUL FREQUENCY. the reason you wont hear actual music through them is because the amp picks out a certain low range of frequencys from what the radio delievers customizable on the amp itself so you only hear the low bass of the song.
Can you play burned music on a boom box?
if you have 2 8oo watt subs theres your limit if you go over youll tear the voice coil( youll trash them) if you under power them too much oull distort them(trash them)if you stay 600-800 watts per sub youll be fine.
How to controll subwoofer bass level.?
if your car has an open carge (like an explorer) the bass will be alot louder than in a consealed truck so take that into consideration
Ever wonder how to set the gains or what size power wire to use?
also putting alot of power into subs and not the rest of the car i gaurentee you wont be happy but dont just buy speakers. buy an amp to go with it nothing crazy 300 watt 4 channel will do fine (just by hooking new speakers up to a stock powered radio could damage them by turning the radio up too close to its limit will send out a distorted freaquency and blow your brand new speakers. i have proudly already tried. good luck
Well if the maximum they'll draw is 800 each, you'd need a minimum of 1600w.
Will it sound okay if i have this setup in my truck...?
Bear in mind that adding a sub will increase bass. If you don't add any tweeters or midrange, then it'll distort the music.
How many ohms would this setup be?
First, always go by watts RMS, never MAX or PEAK.What is the official website for Phoenix gold car audio systems?
The relation of output power and the impedance (ohms, resistance) of the load(subs) also plays an important role.

k pretty much all in all a sub is ur speaker haha. it puts out the bass, to do this u need a power source to run it. thats the amp. the amp runs the subwoofer. now wattage is pretty much the measurment for how much it takes to run the sub. so example, u got a 500 watt sub. so u want a 500 watt amp. theres also ohms, 2,4,and 8 ohm. all u wanna do is match the ohms with the amp u buy. so another example is that, 500 watt sub 4 ohm, u want a amp thats rated at 500 watts and 4 ohms.
