i have a peugeot 307 estate SW and the radio works perfect and i has a standard cd player already in it, but cant get the cd to play any tracks, there is no play button and it doesnt come on automatically? there is no manual with the car either so i cant use that, similar probs in any other car or same car with manual that could help, wud greatly appreciate it x

Sounds to me like its buggered.Whats the differance between a stock speaker, and a speaker you would buy at for example.. best buy?
Only thing I can think is that you may be playing CDR's and it might not like them. Try a normal pre recorded (bought) cd if this is the case.
Older cd players are a bit like old gits like me. They don't understand about these new fangled things!
If theres no buttons at all then i would guess you need to flip it over in some way. there may be buttons behind it.

it might just have a tuner (radio) button! then just press that so the radio swithches off...& cd comes on...
