First of all I recommend a sealed or gel cell battery. Normal car batteries vent hydrogen gas and also tend to corrode everything that is close to them. You'll need a heavy gauge cable from the front battery location to the rear battery location. This will connect the + leads of the two batteries. within 12" or so of the + terminal of the front battery place a 150 amp circuit breaker or fuse. You'll need to do the same at the rear battery. This will make sure that if there is a short circuit that the wire will not catch fire or cause the batteries to explode. You'll also need a 200 amp relay somewhere in line with this cable. This relay needs to be wired so that if the car is not running then the rear battery is disconnected from the front battery. This will allow you to listen to your stereo for a bit without the engine running and also isolates the batteries from each other so that if one is weak it does not draw the other down. The rear battery needs at least a 4 ga cable from the - side to the frame of the car. It's never a bad idea to upgrade the front ground cable to a larger size since factory cables are usually 6-8 gauge. Make sure all of your connections are properly crimped and soldered or use high quality compression fittings. When you hook up your amps, you'll need to connect the + battery cables to the + terminal of the rear battery but the - cables need to be connected to the point on the frame where the rear battery - is connected.

Run a heavy gauge cable (1/0 or 2 gauge) from the front battery to the back battery. Use a circuit breaker on both ends. Buy a high current solenoid if you like to listen to the radio without the car running. Place it anywhere in-line between the two batteries and use an ignition circuit to activate it.
