a single coil rated at 4oowatts nominal power will mean current will travel through single coil which can handle no more than 400 watts rms,
but in dual voice coil the current is distributed equally in both coils..then in this case what happens..
each coil has nominal power of 200 rms or
each coil has nominal power 400 rms .
further without taking the thought of amplifier and there wirings options right now,which woofer will perform better single coil or dual coil?in clarity aspects or spl or ne thing u kno

Never wire each coil to each channel on a 2-channel amp. The differences in component values on each side of the amp is enough to cause the coils to heat unevenly and warp.

In clarity aspects or SPL there is no difference. The difference between SVC and DVC is only for different wiring methods for correct impedance values to the amp.
Basically it's the same as cutting the coil in half of an 8 ohm SVC. The overall watts is the same and you can now wire it for
2 ohms (parallel, the first diagram) or 8 ohm (series, not recommended as half the power would be pushed). Two of these would give you the choice of 1 ohm (parallel both subs), 4 ohm (parallel-series, the second diagram) or 16 ohm (series both subs, not recommended as 1/4 the power would be pushed).

well single has been the norm for years and years.....dual must be new cause I've never had one nor seen one. So I would say the dual is better as its newer.The power ratio should be listed on the speakers itself....if its split, what its max RMS is, etc.
