Question:
I am having a Kenwood DPX-701 installed next week that has a front USB port. My iPod came with a USB to dock connector cable for use with the computer, but I don't know if this will work with the car stereo. Kenwood has an iPod interface, but I am not interested in controlling the iPod through the head unit, I just want it to play through the speakers. Any and all help would be appreciated!!

I installed a new car stereo and have to power it off separately after I turn off the ignition.?
I have a JVC with a front USB port and I used the cable that came with the ipod and it would play most of the songs on the ipod, but not all of them. Not really sure why, but oh well. Also, I had to control it through the head unit. I eventually got the actual ipod adaptor since the stereo was ipod ready. It was a pain at first to control it through the head unit, but I love it now that I'm used to it.How do i connect my 6 by 9 s directly to my amplifier?
If the head unit has a 1/8 port (Same size as your headphone jack) you can get a cable @ radio shack to connect the car up like a giant speaker.GM cars have them in the factory radios - not sure of the aftermarket - sorry.
