How good are Power Acoustik FUBR-12's? 25th editon.?

By the load (ohm = resistance = impedance) presented on the amp.

XM or Sirius? Which is better? What's the cost of each "unit" and per month?

For example, this could be the specs for an amp:

My subs sound better?

400 watts RMS @ 4 ohm (.01% THD)
800 watts RMS @ 2 ohm (.5% THD)
1600 watts RMS @ 1 ohm (1% THD)

Anyone know the radio wire diagrams for a 2002 mazda tribute?

Just because an amp may be stable at 1 ohm, it doesn't mean it's best to load it it at that. It's always better to load an amp at higher impedance than lower as a higher impedance will cause the amp to run cooler, sound better and last longer.

What amp for 2 KICKER S12L7-4 12" L7 SOLO-BARIC'S (4-ohm) ?

If, for instance, you wanted 500 watts RMS for a system, it would be better to find an amp that's 500 watts RMS @ 4 ohm than 500 watts RMS @ 1 ohm as the THD (total harmonic distortion) increases with lower impedances.

Where can i get a cheap under backseat sub enclosure for a 95 chevy extcab?

To clarify, if an amp is rated for 500 watts RMS @ 4 ohms it's best to match the load with speakers that total 500 watts @ 4 ohms than getting an amp that's 500 watts @ 1 ohm and loading it with subs that total 500 watts RMS @ 1 ohm.

What is the best brand of amp?

It's the same amount of output power but with less distortion for the higher impedanced load.

Is it okay to mount an amp on an enclosure?

The selection of certain types of subs would allow you to run two subs with a 4 ohm load like so http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/s...

What kind of car stereo system could I get for under 800 dollars?

These are called DVC (dual voice coil) subs with two coils each. If each coil is 4 ohms, the rusulting impedance will be 4 ohms. Each sub would then need to handle 250 watts RMS as each sub will get half of the 500 watt RMS power output.

Is this a good deal? 2 Alpine Type r powered by rockford amp?

Two 2 ohm SVC (single voice coil, not usually denoted this way) subs wired like so http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/s... would also present a 4 ohm load.

What's the best way to wire 2 PPI Amp's and 2 Kicker subwoofers?

How should I build my woofer box, and how should I wire the amp?

I would assume that the amplifier amplifies a certain amount of power and if you don't have speakers that will handle that amount of power, it will probably blow them. The amplifier doesn't "know" anything. Try looking to see how much power it amplifies.

I have a 1000w mono amp, that is stable at 1 ohm. can i hook two DVC 2 ohm subs up to this amp?

The amp doesn't "know" anything - but its designer does, and plans for certain things to be present when connecting speakers.

The stereo in my peugeot 206 gti Vplate has just stopped working, any suggestions?

The output of a Power Amplifier has two main parameters - impedance and output power. The impedance is designed to match certain speakers. 4 Ohm and 8-Ohm are the most common types.
The output power is defined by how much power the amplifier can provide to those speakers: 10 Watts, 50 Watts, 100 Watts, etc.

Does a subwoofer box really need a hole in it to breathe? inorder to perform better?

In short, you must know the output power and impedance of the amplifier, and choose speakers that match (or in the case of power handling capability) exceed the amplifier rating.

Replacing speakers in 2002 chevrolet camaro?

It is always best to MATCH the impedance of the speakers to the output impedance of the amplifier, not necessarily choosing higher impedance speakers as suggested. For example, using a 4-Ohm speaker with an amplifier rated at 8 Ohms will cause the amplifier to run hotter and is likely to burn-up your amp sooner. Using an 8-Ohm speaker on an amp designed for 4 Ohms will give you less output, and will change the frequency response of the output.
You can try an extreme example of this by plugging a 150-ohm headphone into an 8-Ohm power amplifier - it sounds nothing like a matched speaker, or how the headphones sound when plugged into a dedicated headphone amplifier.

Speaker wireing configuration, (parallel vs. series),ohme and wattage info?

It doesn't. With the knob knob on the side (Gain) YOU control the power

How do i adjust treble and bass in my car?

Click wrote "It doesn't. With the knob knob on the side (Gain) YOU control the power" -Crap!
Click- don't go around spreading false info. We don't want anyone to get hurt! Gain knobs ARE NOT volume knobs! Click, you may only have experience with cheap crap amps that you thought you Had to crank the gain to get power!
Once again, don't spread false info. The purpose of these q's are to get them the CORRECT info. Thank You
BTW, what is a 'knob knob'?
