Question:
i have a rockford fosgate bd1000a powering a 1000 rms at 2ohms.now, the question is will this amp be enough to kick two 12" solo baric L7's or one 12" Solo X...the two 12'sL7's have an rms rating of 750w rms each and the solo x of 2500 rms...now i know its logical that the amp doesnt have enough to power these..but ive had a couple people tell me that the mono rockford fosgate bd1000a will def knock two 12"L7's hard.maybe you guys can help a bit further/...and what do u think about the solox being hooked up to the RF bd1000a? will it kick hard too?
Answers:
Why did my amplified car stereo system suddenly lose bass thump .?
In either case, as long as your loading the amp to 2 ohms, it will push 1000 watts RMS. The L7's would be a closer match @ 1500 watts than the Solo X @ 2500.Is amp fried, if board is burnt?
Remember, you only get a 3dB increase in SPL for every doubling of output power from the initial dB rating of the sub(s). With two subs add another 3dB to the total.
For instance, if the specs state 90dB then that sub will push 90dB with 1 watt @ 1 meter. Each doubling of power will increase the dB output by 3 dB.
Any idea whats wrong with the CD played in my Oldsmobile Intrigue?
1 watt = 90dB
2 watts = 93dB
4 watts = 96dB
etc.
Where do i look for apower cable for a pioneer car stereo?
The higher the initial dB, the less power to make it loud.
The enclosure is just as important as the selection of subs.
