Precision Power Art Series amps from 6 to 4ga. power input?

Is the rating peak power?
If its peak power multiply the number bu 0.7071. That will give you the RMS power.
IF thats RMS dividing by the same number will give peak power.

What is wrong with my car's CD player?

normally max power is rated around double the RMS. the other guy gave a pretty exact number, unfortunately it is highly inaccurate, as there are other things to consider, airspace (for example, sealed subwoofers can take a little more power than the exact same subs in a ported box), efficiency, quality of the brand (for example, sony x-plod highly overrates their speakers and amplifiers), and other factors. really the only thing you can do is look for an RMS rating in the manual, on the box or speaker.
