Question:
kicker sub, 10 inch. Amp rated at 200 watts rms. think the sub is blown?
Answers:
Wher can i get a cheap amp amd 2 subs for my truck?
damn well it might be blown out or maybe ur amp is to small and wont give the right amount of watts that its suppose to have i its blown it should have a funny smell to the coil and look in side to the copper wire and see if its black..What do i need for a basic, yet good sounding sound system for my 92 civic?
when you manually push the cone in, does it make a scraping noise? if yes its gone. check your connections and solder all connections in a perfect world. btw what is it hooked to? if its rcs cables, id check the resistance of them, you might have a junker. the set i finally used were around $40 and about 6-8' to long. i tried em all even home made ones. What would be the best amplifier to run the following speaker setup.?
Push on the sub with your hand if it feels smooth then the sub is ok. if you push on it and it feels rough like its dragging then its blown. Also check the seal around the sub that could cause it to malfunction. If those tests say that it everything is ok so far then the last thing i can reccomend is to check your ground and power wires. It is absoluty imortant to make sure you have a solid grounds connection. on bare metal that connects to the vehicles chassie. The place i use that usually works best for me is the seat belt bolt under the seat. but anywhere under a bolt is usually ok. Also make your u have solid connections to your amp. And if u have old wiring (more than 3 years) replace it. And if all else fails youve blown your sub not a big deal, you can most likly get it fixed at a local sound store. for not much more than 50 bucks (usually). well, Good luck!More Questions & Answers ...
