As many as your budget allows.how do i make a subwoofer box?
It really depends on a lot of things: are you trying to keep your factory head unit is the first thing, and what are you trying to accomplish with the system? are you wanting to just add bass? or push mids/highs?i have a car stereo question. please help...?
To clarify something said above: actually, if it is a non-bose factory head unit, it will power a couple of amps, just depends on your set up. if you are just adding bass (meaning one amp to power a couple of subs), you can tap into the rear speaker leads at the rear deck and run the wires from where you are tapping into the factory wiring to a "step-down" (or low output converter--LOC as I call them: I'd recommend a PAC SNI-15 as an inexpensive converter to use but you can get what you need at any stereo shop or radio shack). Using the LOC, you can convert the high level output of the radio to RCA output and then run RCAs from the LOC to the amp.
What SUV do you think sounds best with a system in it?
If you are running all speakers off an amp but want to retain the factory head unit, you can do this in a couple of ways, depending on if you are using a 2 channel or 4 channel amp. Both ways will require you to either cut the factory wiring or spend $30 to $45 on a couple wire harnesses so that you dont have to cut the wiring and then either one or two LOC units, depending on whether you are using a 2 channel or 4 channel amp. The way to do this without buying the harnesses is to cut the speaker wires behind the radio (the yellow and brown, light blue and dark blue, light green and dark green, and tan and grey wires ***be careful not to cut the 12volt accessory wire that's yellow instead of the yellow rear left negative speaker wire--speaker wires are grouped side by side typically***)
ain't u be needin to chek yosef befo u be wrekin yosef?!?
After cutting, take the leads that go to the harness that plugs into the radio and connect them to the LOC: if doing a four channel amp or two 2-channel amps to do front and rear speakers, you would connect an LOC to the front left and right leads (tan is +, grey is - for front left; light green is + , dark green is - for front right) and an LOC to the rear left and right leads (dark brown is + and yellow is - for rear left; dark blue is + and light blue is - for rear right). then run your RCA's from the LOC to the amp(s). You will have to run wires from the *other side* of the harness (the side that goes into the dash) to the output of the amp. This way, your radio feeds a signal to the LOC which converts the signal to RCA. The signal travles through the RCA to the amp, is amplified and sent back through the wires to the rest of the harness in the dash to be dispersed to the speakers.
Amplifier won't power up PLEASE HELP?
It basically is determined on how many amps you are wanting to put in and if you really are trying to retain the factory head unit.
stereo system problem please help!?
If you have Bose, as stated above, you will have to change everything. The reason why is that each speaker is amplified and the factory radio does not have any power of its own to speak of. So, your aftermarket radio will have too much power to push the amps and can fry/distort the amps and the factory radio doesnt have enough power to push the aftermarket speakers without an amp. Now, you can add an aftermarket amp to a bose radio but it requires an additional module to do so.
Whats the difference between round ports and square ports for subwoofers?
If you can supply more info as to what you are wanting to do, a more specific answer could be given.
Power Acoustik Fubr, best with what amplifier?
the simplest answer, is however deep your pockets are and how much space you have available for amps. There's a black van that hits 197.9dB I believe, weighs 7 and a half TONS, and I think runs 175000 watts (something like 12 hifonics colossus) Thing's so heavy it cant move under it's own power, so thats 7 tons of audio equipment and sound deadening, anything's possible with a good imagination and deep pockets. ;)How do you solder wires together?
As many as your electrical system can handle...Something to consider...this is an example...
To calculate the current draw of an amplifier, multiply the number of channels by the RMS watts per channel (a 2 channel amp rated at 2000 watts RMS per channel would be 4000 watts). Double it to account for amplifier inefficiency (4000 watts X 2 = 8000 watts), then divide by the average output voltage of an alternator, 13.8 volts (8000 divided by 13.8 = 579 amps). Since the average music signal requires about 1/3rd of the average power in a test tone, divide by 3 (579 amps divided by 3 = 193 amps).
This is an average approximation of current draw and can go higher. So I would gather between 194 and 289 amperes for this system.
What kind of amp do i need for a 12 inch dual subs?
The alternator of a:
I need an xm radio smart controller for bose xm ready car stereo?
compact car is about 35 amps
mid-sized car is about 65-75 amps
SUV is about 145 amps
Calculate 40% of the amperes of the alternator you have now. This is the average current the car uses when running. Add this number to the approximate average current draw of the amps, and you will come up with the minimum actual size of alternator you need.
is a capacitor really needed for a 1000 wat amp and 1100watt speaker box?
If the number you come up with is the same as what your alternator supplies, you need to take no action.
