if you are using one sub on a 4 channel amp, you will not use all 4 channels to power the sub. You will use 2 of the four channels wired mono to push the one sub. *generally speaking*, when you bridge the output of an amp, you double the amount of power into that ohm load. So, if you have a 4 channel amp that does 100w per channel RMS (not max as max power ratings are irrelevant), then you will bridge channels 1 and 2 OR channels 3 and 4 of the amp to the speaker. If you have two subs, then you would bridge channels 1 and 2 to one sub and channels 3 and 4 to another. How can I install a windshield suction cup?
To bridge an amp, the specific positive and negative output of the channel used on the amp will vary from amp to amp. The concept though is that the negative of one channel will go to the negative of the speaker and the positive of the other channel will go to the positive of the speaker. FOR EXAMPLE ONLY: the negative of channel three on your amp and the positive of channel 4 on your amp could be used to bridge. Usually the bridging outputs will be marked in certain ways to distinguish them from other outputs (i.e. a circle around the + symbol for the positive bridging output, etc.), or it may be written on the amp somewhere. If all else fails, look up the info in the amp manual or online at the manufacturer's website.
It's important to know what ohm load your amp is rated at before bridging the amp as they can drastically affect the performance of the amp, if not fry it! most lesser quality amps (and even some really good quality amps) can be bridged at a 4 ohm load only. Some better amps can be driven at a 2ohm mono (bridged), 1 ohm mono, or even 1/2 ohm mono load. Contact me if you need more info on that.
Can anyone tell me how to install speakers in Ford Escape?
As for your box, vented enclosures can put out some good sound if they are built right. Let me know if there's more that you need.
well u deffinatly dont want the amp to be more powerful unless u want to blow your speaker
it sounds like you have a few things mixed up about this sub and the amp
how to calculate dieminsions for speaker box?
First, there is only ONE rms wattage rating. There is no minimum and max rms.
Second, you can't combine 4 channels into one on an amp. Depending on the amp, you MIGHT be able to combine 2 channels into one, but it depends on the amp itself.
Can a grounding rod be attached to a mast for a television antenna.?
It sounds like the sub is 300 watts rms and 600 watts max
it also sounds like the amp you have is made for pushing mids (interior speakers)
you need to look at the amp at the speaker connections and see if it says anything about bridging. If it does, then you'll probably be able to combine two of the channels into one. You also need to find out if that 4X100 is rms or max
If you run 2, 2 ohm speakers in parallel does that present a 1 ohm load?
If that's rms, then you should be able to combine two channels into one for 200 watts rms and 400 max, which would be decent, but lacking.
will i get more bass if i add a capacitor?
If that's max, then you would only be able to combine two channels for about 100 watts rms and 200 max, which would REALLY be lacking, but might be enough to hold you over until you get a bigger amp (depending on your audio taste)
Hope this helps
What exactly does CD Playback mean?
your subwoofer is 300 watts rms and 600 wats Max, not 600 watts rms max. and yea you should be fine running 400 watts to a 600 watt max subwoofer. oh yea check this out from crutchfieldDo remote car starters damage your car?
Choose an amplifier whose power output matches the power handling of the speakers you'll be amplifying. Make sure you're comparing the RMS power ratings of both the amp and speakers. And remember — it's better to overpower your speakers a little than to send them too little power.
