Just bought 2 15" cvr compkickers, they are suppoesed to push 1000 watts apiece. how many watt ampshould i get?

What is the best 6.5 speakers?

If that's 1000 watts RMS, then get an amp that 2000 watts @ the correct impedance (ohms). This will depend on the ohms of the coils and how many coils per sub.

What do you guys think of the alpine type R swr-1242d? is it a good speaker or a cheap one...whats ur input?

I have a pioneer deh-1900mp car radio. How do I set the clock?

I'm pretty sure cvrs are maybe 1000watts max rating, more like 500watts RMS. In either case (it doesn't matter), find out the RMS rating for your subs, and get an amplifier that has the same or similar RMS rating for both subs combined at the desired impedance level.

MTX or Diamond audio?

Kicker does make a 2000 watt amp, you can find pretty good deals on them on ebay. Or you could get two 1000 watt amps and put an amp on each sub.

My car stereo is broke or stuck, what is wrong with it?

It would be nice to run an amp that pushes the RMS for those subs, but it's not necessary. I've seen lower wattage amps push subs with no problem. I personally have built a car in 85 - 86 that took 2nd loudest in the nation. It had 16 - 15" Rockford subs, and we only used a Rockford Power 1000 to push all 16. If you only can afford a single channel amp, then you will need to see what the Ohm rating is on the amp, so to run the subs safely without clipping the amp, but keep in mind, the amp will heat up, like all sub amps do, and you can risk a thermal shut down. If the amp is rated at 4 ohms mono, then you will need to series your speakers for the single channel amp. To do this, take a wire and run it to the positive on one speaker, then the negative of the other, if the speakers are 4 ohms. Then run the open positive and the open negative to the mono/bridge side of the amp. What you just did, is took 2 - 4 ohm subs, bridged them up to 8 ohms, and when you bridge them mono to the amp, the amp will now see a 4 ohm load. This will allow the amp to run safely for the ohm load you put on it. This can be done with any ohm sub. If the subs are 8 ohms, then you need to run them in parallel. To do this, you need to connect both positive sides of the speakers and both negative sides of the speakers. This will bring the ohm load down to 4 ohms. Then bridge them to the mono/bridge side of the amp. Keep in mind the amp will now see a 2 ohm mono load. Only do this if the amp can handle a 2 ohm mono load, or the amp will thermally shut down, frequently, by generating too much heat to try and keep up with the ohm load. Good luck, and happy tunes! Sparky has a nice site, you should check it out, also.

How can i hardwire my sirius power supply to cig lighter?

the cvrs, are 500 watts rms, and a 1000 peak. so u want to run them some where in the middle. if u have the money, buy 2 zx 750 kicker amps. that should work great. if not then get 1 mono 1000 watt or 1500 watt amp from kicker.
