What may be wrong with my CD deck?

Question:
I tried to wire up my cd deck in my car and when i turned the key on the deck would light up for about a second then go out and then repeat that blinking sequence. if i moved it around some it would stay lit longer or stay lit up, and then i heard the speakers give a pop or watever it was every once in a while. did i pop a fuse or breaker? I put my old deck back in and everything worked out fine.

Sounds if the cd player is wired incorrectly. Make sure all wires connections are good and see what happens.
