If i remove my car stereo from my car that has a code will this damage it- or will i just need the code before

this was a gift and they cant find the code and i am selling the car but not the stereo. how do i find out the code?

You will need the code to get that stereo to work, will not damage the unit so long as you dont start snipping wires.

It will not damage the stereo or the car just to unhook it and take it out. I would try to find out where the stereo was bought and go there. The dealer should have the codes there.
