This is a repeat post but same question:Any good double din head units?
Depends on the kind of music you listen to. Like stated before, sealed is good for rock, jazz and country. It produces a very tight kick drum type bass. Very punchy. This is the easiest to build. Very straight forward.
Bandpass on the other hand will give you a very drawn out long bass good for rap and hiphop. It'll be the hardest to build because of all the specs that you need to figure out (mathematically) and tends to be the biggest of the three boxes for a given sub.
I just put in some subs and whenever i hit my brakes or turn a signal on or anything they hit?
Ported (vented) boxes are somewhere in the middle. This also requires a little bit more extensive volume calculation but isn't as bad as a bandpass. A member here named Sparky(with some numbers) has a very nice web page that describes all these in great detail.
Look at the spec sheet that came with your sub and go from there.
Have fun!
Independent audio shop vs circuit city?
band pass is probably the best to go with since it has both ported and sealed... but that will take up much more space in your car... it will sound better than the other two though... if you want a small box then you should get a sealed. sealed boxes have great accuracy and produces much cleaner bass... if you want a little bit bigger box that has a more boomier sound and can be much louder... you should go with a ported box... personally i would go with ported unless you really dont mind about how much space you take up id go with bandpass... and sealed boxes or more meant for trucks then suvs or cars unless you want really clean bass... but overall they all sound great hope this helpsIs a single bandbass box good for a 12'' type R sub?
it all depends on the subs and the place your gona put them, if they are gona go in an open space such as in the back of an suv or somethin, go for a bandpassCan anyone recommend a place that can "hop up" an old Sears Roadtalker CB Radio?
Actually the manufacturer should have recommendations as to what type/size of enclosure is best suited for their sub.See my site for more info http://spkrbox1.spaces.live.com...
Anyone know the correct way to hook up a car stereo?
i recommend ported and custom built by pro it will sound way better than putting a bunch of **** togetherIt all depends on what kind of music you listen to, how much power you put to the subs, and alot more. Sealed boxes offer the highest power handling capabilities and tighter, better quality sound, but don't get as loud. Ported boxes offer louder sound but require less power. Bandpass is like a combo of the 2. IMO: slightly overpowered subs in sealed boxes - but that's cause I like sound quality.
