JL should have recommendations as to what type/size of enclosure is best suited for their sub.

How can i check to see if my car amp is blown?

depends on what kind of music you usually listen to. my opinion is that sealed is for rock, ported for a large variety of music, and bandpass for rap and r&b

How do I fit my new dash facia in my MGTF? I would like to fit it myself.?

Depends on the kind of music you listen to. Like stated before, sealed is good for rock, jazz and country. It produces a very tight kick drum type bass. Very punchy. This is the easiest to build. Very straight forward.

I have a few old cars that have no radio in them and..?

Bandpass on the other hand will give you a very drawn out long bass good for rap and hiphop. It'll be the hardest to build because of all the specs that you need to figure out (mathematically) and tends to be the biggest of the three boxes for a given sub.

How do I remove CD Player from 2004 Durango?

Ported (vented) boxes are somewhere in the middle. This also requires a little bit more extensive volume calculation but isn't as bad as a bandpass. A member here named Sparky(with some numbers) has a very nice web page that describes all these in great detail.

Look at the spec sheet that came with your sub and go from there.

On my new double din DVD player where does the wire labelled screen display control go to on my truck?

a quick description on what to expect from boxes. first an easiest, the jl w7 does not work in a bandpass enclosure, so leave that one out.
a sealed enclosure, built to the woofers specs, will offer the flattest, most natural sound and typically has a wider frequency response with little or no frequency dips or increases so 40 hz will play just as loud as 80 hz, etc.
vented or ported boxes are popular right now because of the increase in sound they give you, typically a 3 db inrease can be expected at a given note, 45 hz. is the norm on tuning frequencies because it offers an increase at a usable frequencies both upper notes and lower notes. in retrospect a 3 db increase is twice as loud... to sum it up, that would be like this scenario,
1 12'' woofer in a sealed box with 500 watts, sounds just like 1 12'' woofer on 500 watts, put that same woofer in a vented box and its going to sound like 2 12's on a 500 watt amp (at its tuned frequency) the downside you ask... at certain notes your bass will be noticably louder then other notes, not typically a problem though when its tuned right. another problem, not that you'll notice in a cadi, is port noise. as the air is pushed through the vent pretty quickly, it makes a noise when the air travels over the corners of the box / vent. you can eliminate alot of that problem by routering your ports edges and using agles inside in the corners
