Question:
I have 2 Audiobahn AW1206T's (1100 RMS) that operate at 2 ohms. my amp is the rockford t30001bd (2000 W x 1 @ 2 Ohms RMS). when i turn my radio up loud, my subs start to smoke. my friend did all the installation because i don't know much about wiring myself. What could be the reason for the smoke and how can i stop it?

What is the best amp to power a JLaudio 13w7 without spending to much money?
That's because they're not wired for 2 ohm as two 4 ohm DVC can only be wired for 1 ohm, 4 ohm or 16 ohm(never used).Hifonics speakers and component sets?
I'm willing to bet they're wired for 1 ohm and since that amp is stable at 1 ohm and pushes 3000 watts, there's your problem!
Re-wire the subs like so http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/s... and they will stop smoking. This will result in a 4 ohm load so the subs will only get 500 watts RMS each, but they won't blow either (or smoke).
How do I wire my dvc 1 ohms sub to run at 2 ohms off my amp?
I can not think of any reason a sub would smoke.Just hooked up JL 500/1 to 12w6v2... somethings wrong?
