Question:
I am an American living in Ireland. I just bought a nice used car with a bad in-dash stereo. To get a nice CD in-dash here would cost more than twice as much as buying one from the U.S. even after paying the shipping. Then the local electronics guy can fit it in. I just wasn't sure the radio signal frequencies would be compatable. If anyone knows I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Question regarding car stereo specs. and installation.?
europe uses the same am band but the frequencies are separated by 9 khz ie 550 559 568 instead of 550 560 570 etc. fm is same frequency but ours is 97.1 97.3 97.5 theirs has much closer spacing like 97.1 97.150 97.2 97.250 etc. so while a us radio will work it will only pick up maybe 25% of the european stations. it is strictly hit or miss. the cd part is no problem.Help with car audio, speakers, amp, sub...!?
Yes, you should be OK with a US stereo. Can a new car radio kill the battery?
If its digital the AM freqs may be out of whack. In the US they're stepped every 10 (kilohertz, I think), but in Europe a little closer. I had a multi-country stereo when I lived in Germany and had to change it back and forth when travelling. If it's analog, no prob. Just wiggle the knob until you find what you want.
Hey wassup i just wanted to know if dual subwoofers are good by any chance?
FM should be fine, and CDs are CDs wherever you are :)
