Ive heard a paper cone subwoofer beofre... and it wasnt that bad, what about the brand SPL? i need all input?

Question:
so here i am just crusin on the internet tryin to decide on what subs to get for my tahoe, and im tryin to spend under 400 bucks on 2 subs for the first set anyways ;) and i came across the brand SPL, its yet again another brand that makes paper cones, it has amazing stats for a 12 and quite frankly im impressed with the price also. i just need some more feed back on what brands are good, and what paper cones will become in a year or so, ive heard that theyll rip fast and wear and allll that, but they have a couple of paper cone subs at bestbuy on display, and i have never heard any unusual distortion or blowing out, theyv had the same set since theyve opened, i know cause i asked. im just having a dilema on if i should buy these super loud paper cones? or buy super quality not so loud expensive subs?

Where is my CD player?

All speakers wear out. Whether they are paper or injection molded poly-propylene (IMPP) the voice coils or surrounds are subject to wear or failure. I don't doubt that the SPLs are durable, in fact I'm pretty confident they'll last awhile. But most speakers are meant to be replaced periodically. However, a speaker with rubber surrounds, and epoxy bonded IMPP cones are meant to withstand loose bass stress in bandpass and ported bass setups. They can also handle more pressure and faster throw from sealed box setups. You can't lose with IMPP... it's just that those SPL's might be worth a try.

Audio question?

i have a pair of SPL 12's (12ELF) and they bang I have had them for 2 years and still sound great .the paper cones are more lighter material compared to the plastic cones which cause it to be more efficient and now days they add a coating to the paper cones to hold up to the heat and weather .SPL is made by Power Acoustik . checkout caraudiodeals.com or onlinecarstereo.com

Two 15" Fi Q or BL?

Factory speakers and most other not-so-good speakers use paper cones becauase they are cheap. You know how old factory speakers sould like right? i wouldn't go with a paper cone speaker of any sort just becuase if they uses cheap paper cones to build the speaker, then they must've used cheap rubber for the surrounds and cheaper materials for the other parts too.

I want to install a sound system in my car but not sure which way to go, and cost affective too?

As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Over time, your paper cones and rubber surrounds will deteriate much quicker than a more concretely built product. It might sound nice now but can you say for sure 5 years from now??
