A word of caution, if you have keyless entry, you may need a special harness if you plan on replacing the head unit.Whats the best type of box for subs?

How much inches dia shold i cut out of the board to fix a 10"sub.?
Go cheap..Go Sony at walmart use their X-plod series...then buy your amp at Best Buy under the DUAL brand. 300 watts is good, also buy their stock 12" woofer. Build your box custom with their instructions and use a standard harness for your stereo that Walmart sells. The hardest part is getting power to you amp through the firewall and under the carpet...good luckHello! I am going to hotwire my Lincoln cont 1970 car.Battrey to coil.?
You can't go cheap and get good sound. I have a 1990 dodge colt with infinity speakers, subwoofer and alpine head unit and amp all for under $300.What is the best brand for 5.25" front speakers and 6 x 9 rear speakers?
Get a head unit that has an RCA output. Most likely it'll be the second one up from base model. next replace factory speakers with any major name brand. I guarantee it will sound better. And lastly you need a subwoofer and amp with box. I am running a bridge 2ch 300 watt RMS amp to an infinity 12inch woofer.
Have you lost or forgotten your radio code due to a flat battery?
The key thing here is where you get all of these things. If you can wait for a few weeks, then GO TO EBAY!! That is where I got all my parts BRAND NEW!
What Company makes the best subwoofers? I've heard a lot of people recommend JL Audio.?
Good luck and have fun shopping!
I have 2 alpine 10" r series subs in a jeep wrangler?
I can see that you don't need to be loud. But that doesn't mean you should go cheap. www.ascendantaudio.com makes great subwoofers @ at great price. Get 1 Assassin 12" in a ported box. with a good 400rms amp. This is already about 200-250. Then get a decent Head Unit. A Pioneer would work well. Use ebay. Get a 4guage amp kit just incase you decide to upgrade in the future. And get some pheonix gold r's coxials and power them from the Headunit.Price: Roughly $500-600
I'm not sure what size speakers your Civic holds (you can check that on Crutchfield's website), but I would suggest a component set in the front and regular pair of speakers in the rear. Then, maybe a 10" or 12" sub in a sealed box. I've heard both Adire Audio and Resonant Engineering have really good non-mainstream stuff (which translates into savings for you). Or, if you feel more comfortable with famous brands, you can check Ike Sound for Alpine, Infinity, and other like brands. I've dealt with them, and can say they have good service. If you have a little more time to assemble your system you can always check local Circuit City and Best Buy open box areas. Sometimes you can find a really good deal (like the Alpine headunit I bought for $130 installed). I used all Stinger wires for my system (RCA's and power wires). The gauge you need is dependent on how much power you want to push. Lower gauges = bigger wires = more power. I would suggest running your regular speakers from your headunit. Adding an amp for them adds a lot of extra cost which may be unnecessary for the system it seems you want. Just be sure to buy a decent headunit (Alpine, Pioneer, Eclipse) - NOT Sony, Dual, or the like cheapie brands. I'd suggest Alpine Type-S and Infinity Reference speakers as a starting point. Go to stores or car shows and listen to the speakers before you buy any, because the most important thing is how they sound to you!
