6x8 fron & rear, Pioneer, Kenwood, and alpine, make these sizes. I would say get 5.25 components sets for sound quality. Buy on ebay you will save about 50% and possibly more. Also for a reference check the reviews on www.sounddomain.com, and www.cardomain.com, and do a search on your vehicle to see what everybody else have in their explorer. I have a 94 mustang, same size speakers ,and im running 6.5 Phoenix Gold components, front and rear, with a kenwood amp. Got Everything off ebay.
