Speakers going in and out? Quikly!?
if radio, then bad antenna, bad antenna wire or connection on back of radio is not solid. could also be where you are located, hills, large buildings, radio tower interference. could also be a cheap head unit, each is different in its quality to pick up radio. aftermarket, clarion has the best FM receiver. If the static is a constant buzz on the radio with the engine on or off, it's the antenna or the radio itself. You can buy an antenna choke ( booster/filter) for it which should clear up the problem. If the static is only when the engine is running, the pitch increases and decreases with engine speed, it's the truck's electrical system. The antenna lead is too close to the main wiring harness under the dash and it is receiving interference from the alternator. Just reroute the antenna cable so it is at least 2 inches away from the harness. If the static is a fast series of popping noise, check your distributor cap and wires for shorting/arcing. That also includes a loose pointer on the distributor rotor.
