Question:
I have a Pioneer DEH-P3600. My friend is getting rid of his Pioneer DEH-P6700MP. I also have an Alpine amp, and two Alpine 12" subs. If I put his head in my car, should there be any problems with the subs not performing? or should this be a clean swap? Also, is there going to be any difference sound quality? Thanks alot for all the help.

This should be a fairly easy swap. You will probably have to rewire the connections for the new unit because they have different harnesses that plug into the back of the head unit. You may have to turn down the gains on the amp also. The 6700 has a higher voltage pre-amp output. If you don't turn them down, you could DC the amp (clipping). Also, make sure that all of your EQs, bass, treble, and loudness are set to flat or 0 before you start tuning. Here is a little reminder when setting EQs. First focus on what frequency you are getting too much of, instead of not enough. Turn down, before you turn any up.

DO IT! of couse there will b a hell lotta diff..6700 is a very good unit and not even sub everything will perform better.let me guess is ur frnd givin it for free- so sell both ,urs and ur frnd and buy even better one(if he's givin for free).definately it will be a clean swap coz the better the head unit the better the output signal to amp and more clean pounding.besides, its a "PIONEER" !. gud luck
