mine is a cigarette plug in and works as you drive if plugged in what way did you install it?my cigarette lighter does not work if car is switched off.
oh if its plugged into lighter socket check that the socket actually works and sometimes my adapter needs to to be tweaked about abit to work just loose on the connection sometimes.

theres a kill switch on the dvd player...so when its in gear it wont work...if you know anyone that intalls decks they could cut it for you, but most places wont do it unless they know ya cause of the saftey issuesIt depends on the type of car you have and how it is connected to your radio.

just take the wire that goes to the parking brake lead and ground it out, just like you would ground an amplifier. that is what i did, i have a 3000 indash dvd navi system, i did it myself, and i am an MECP certified installer. enjoy!there will be two power feeds going into the back of your unit. q is a switched feed that turns the unit off whilst driving the other is a permanent feed from the battery. you need to connect both wires from your unit to the pemanant feed.

I have a new alpine DVD, it has two leads on the back. One for parking brake, one for foot brake. Parking is ground, foot is 12v+. To enable it to play while driving, I hooked up 2 toggle switches to these leads. You turn foot brake toggle on, turn parking brake toggle ON-OFF-ON and then turn foot brake toggle off. They implemented this combination of events to keep people from just grounding the lead like the guy said in a previous post. They also sell a relay on ebay to do this for you, but the toggles were just as easy.my car plays some burned cds and spits out outhers it dosent like wtf?
