Question:
What are your opinions on having component speakers. Do you think if you have a really good head unit(Pioneer7800) that comes with a 16 band equalizer runnig to an amp then to door speakers that component speakers are necassary or are they for factory players just upgrading door speakers? It is the only thing I lack in deciding if the extra components are woth it.
Answers:
First, it depends on how good your factory players and speakers are. Many cars these days (especially the top one like Cadillac, Lexus, Mercedes) have a very good "standard" factory sound system. They already have separate 'component' speakers, amps, and even subwoofer. If you already have these kind of system, it's useless to replace any of them with the aftermarket parts unless you're buying top-of-the-line stuff (Like Pioneer's ODR or Alpine F1 series)
Second, what you really need, and how much are you willing to spend? If budget is your main concern, you can start upgrading with parts that you most disastified first. If you like 'modern' music like R&B, maybe your main concern is the lack of bass. Then your next upgrade will be installing a new subwoofer, plus an amp. If you're not satisfied with the facilities of your current head unit, for example if you need iPod connection or preset EQ. They'll provide you with more facilities, and the sound quality may improved from the standard player (again it depends on your car's 'standard')
If you still have some money left, then go buy a good quality component speakers. It's usually quite pricey, about $500 or more. Steer of those low quality - fancy looking component speakers, they won't provide much improvement than you standard speakers. Remember that the instalation will also cost you a lot, especially if you have to re-fabricate the door panel.
I suggest you buy save your money and buy the high quality parts step-by-step, than just dump all you have now to have a complete, good-looking, loud, but bad quality system.
if you really want a good system go for the components nuf said
my opinion - components are awesome
Can I power 2 15" 1200 watt subs with a 300 Watt Amp?
I think everyone should have some
they aren't always neccessary, but they sound so much better
whether or not you should get any depends on how good your ear is to fine tuned music.
I have a Virtual Reality Sound lab Amp (1000 watt,4.1 channel), is this a good amp?
componets are really really good speakers. some would even say awesome. however, without a good amp pushing them, you might as well not even buy them, cause a HU isnt going to put out the same sound a amp will. it a differnce between night and day.Buying a nice head unit for use with stock speakers makes about as much sense as t i t s on a bull.
