Question:
I'm a beginner trying to install my radio in my car but the power keeps going on and off. I searched and pretty sure its my ground wire causing this since I didnt connect it to anything. I read I need to connect it to the chassis but how do I do this step by step? I dont understant how I'm supposed to connect the wire to the metal.. does it just have to touch the metal frame? But how do I make it secure? Thanks.

2 12" kicker L7's w/ HIFONICS 1600watt rms amp what my db you think?
Most car antenna connections are grounded on the other end as well, so just connecting the antenna often takes care of the grounding -- but some radios have that isolated out.
Boss audio with kicker L7 good combo? BLX3500M amp inparticular?

You can attach the ground wire to any part of the car that is grounded. Find an existing screw or drill a new hole in the car chassis - again - make sure the chassis you select is grounded to the battery. There is the red power lines and there are the black ground wires, and sometimes there are green ground. If you never connected the black negative wire, it never would have turned on in the first place. If you did not connect the green ground wire, the radio should still play. Sounds like the red wire is loose or broken.More Questions & Answers ...
