What size amp for two 12" 400 Watt RMS subwoofers?

I have two sony xplod 12" 400 Watt RMS subwoofers and i was wondering what size amplifier i should get.

How do i build a subwoofer box for my jeep?

I would like to get a sony xplod one but if there isn't the right one than any would be fine.

those subs can only be wired to draw a 1 or 4 ohm load from the amp. they cannot get 2 ohms.

if you have two 400 rms watt subs then you should get an 800 watt mono amp. If you get 1000 or anything higher than an 800 you will over power your subs and eventually ruin them. I would get a kicker or rockford fosgate amp there really good amps and last longer than sonys do.

yea you can deff buy one amp you need to buy a 2 channel amp also need to find out what ohm you are pushing in the subwoofers you have so you need to look for a amp that pushes 800 watts x2 channels and by doing so you should be in good shape
