Question:
I recently hooked one up without reading all the instructions and began using it without doing the initial charge. It seems to be helping with my diiming headlights. Is there any reason why I would want to do the initial charge again?

What are the better-sounding head units with CD changers currently on the market?
I'm not sure what they meant by (initial) I'm guessing it had to do with a small battery, once you hooked the capacitor up it became charged.
think of a capacitor as a type of storage device that can charge and discharge within seconds or less,
unlike a car battery that takes hours to charge and discharge,
I've never heard of a headlight capacitor, although they are rather common for large stereo systems
the manual charge is to slowly charge up the capacitor, this prevents damage to either the cap or anything it is connected to upon the initial charge , but once it is charged it is good to go !
I have a Sirius Satellite Radio (which is ran off an FM transmitter) and also an Ipod Nano...?
you make the battery work harder than it needs to and can run that risk of damaging the capacitor. disconnect read the instruction and follows the instruction thats why they are there. Good LuckMore Questions & Answers ...
