Car Audio for 2005 Toyota Echo 2DR Hatch?

Question:
I was going to change my double din car cd player (stock) to a Pioneer 5850. But when it was going to be installed the Pioneer cd player didnt fit even though there was multipockets for the extra space. The installer said that the Toyota cd player was too wide. Alot wider than the Pioneer. Is it possible to change the stock cd player as I am adding a JBL amp, 12" sub and MTX splits to my car. Help please 'cause I dont want the stock cd player even though its mp3 and everything. It would just cramp my style. Hahaha
