i have two 1200 watt pioneer 12's with a 1200 watt nitro amp bridged on them and my lights dim when ever the bass hits will a cap fix this and if yes what kind do i need or a extra battery.

I had this problem with my kicker solobaric L7 12" subs with a memphis 1000 watt amp i put a capacitor and a optima battery but the lights still dim a little it helped but they still dim..what they told me was that i needed a bigger alternator because the fractory ones only throw 100 volts and somewhat its not enough.so id suggest u get a alternator or u might want to go and ask at a speaker dealerDo you know a site with a list of subwoofer enclosure vendors?

yea just get a cap, a 2 farad should work, its doesnt really matter wut kind, just make sure its big enough to support your wattage. 1000 watts of power= about 1 farad for a cap, so 2 farads, should be good for u.How to controll subwoofer bass level.?
A cap may not help with that much power draw as a cap can't provide "more" power than what it's given.You may be looking at an alternator upgrade or at least upgrade "The Big 3" (wire from the battery to the alternator, ground from the battery to the engine and ground strap from the engine to the chassis).

Yeah dog get a cap. I had 3 15'' JL's and a 4 channel MTX in my 98 Ford Ranger and my light's dimmed when it hit. Then I bought a cap off of my buddy and hooked it up and it fixed it. The one I had was an American Bass with the digital readout. I wish I still had it because now I have a 96 Chevy caprice with ca-million paint and 20" and I have 2 15'' Kicker's and a 1000 watt Ken wood amp and I could really use it now.More Questions & Answers ...
