How should I set my amplifier settings? LPF, HPF, etc.?

Question:
HPF 50-500hz LPF 30-500hz? I have two 12" subwoofers and I want them to sound as good as possible. Right now I have them both set equally at around 300. I am clueless on this subject can someone help?

Answers:

Correct amount of power for subwoofers?

subs are meant to play low frequencies
your amp should have a slide switch the says FULL, HPF or LPF
put it on LPF
then turn the amp and the LPF all the way down
keep the gain(level) at about 60% so you dont fry the amp
go to the head unit and put the volume at what you normally listen to it at
then go to the amp and turn it up slowly until you like how it sounds
keep the LPF at about 60-70 hz

The guy above me is right. For my LPF on my HU also, It's a range of 0-120, I set it to 50hz, that's low and you will get more bass out of that as well, as tweeking up the amplifier settins too.

The lower the LPF, the more bass, the higher, less bass and more high's :) Capisce!?!? :)
