How do i fix my Eclipse AVN6600 to play movies while driving?

When i got it done by best buy, they did something to it so i can only play xbox in it and watch movies while the handbrake is on, if i take it of the screen goes black but you can still hear it . anyone knows how to fix it?

There will be a pink wire running from your headunit to your e-brake. Cut that wire and find the Ground wire coming from your headunit splice into that wire and attatch the pink wire(that was attatched to your e-brake) into your headunits ground wire so it looks like a "Y". It makes your Headunit think that the e-brake is on at all times. good luck

they did it that way so you can't sue best buy when you wreck while trying to watch a movie or play xbox. The only time they'll install it the way you're wanting is if the monitor is mounted anywhere behind the driver seat where the driver can't watch it(for obvious reasons). While it may seem like a bummer to not watch movies while YOU are driving, at least you're not getting into a wreck. Also you could try installing some of those headrest monitors, that way your passengers can see and hear the movie when it plays, or just get someone else to drive if you really want to watch a movie in your car that bad. If you wanted a specialty installation like you are talking about, take it to an install shop that doesn't do all that safety stuff, but they WILL make you sign a waiver so you can't sue them if you get in a wreck becuase of it. Some decks are just built that way though, no way around it.
