I currently own 6.5 in. sony explode speakers that are in the front of my car. These speakers do no really sound that good in my opinion. My question is, would i really notice a difference if i bought some kicker or alpine 6.5 in. speakers.

Put dynamat and get some Alpine type R's. BIG DIFFERENCE. And brand does matter.yeah, for sure, the sony's or pioneer's sound good too.really any brand will be alright, its crazy how much wattage they make those little speakers to be now..i've seen some 300 watt ones.i had lightning audio 220 watt's, thats a cheap off brand, and they sounded great..6.5's are really nice and look great, easy to install, and sound great, very easy to find.generally chevy has pretty good speakers in there car, i dunno what kinda car you have, and ford puts shitty stock speakers in there cars..but yea, good luck on your speaker hunt

Brand doesn't really matter, as long as you choose a trusted brand. Your Sony Xplod speakers are already ok. I think what really matters is how it is attached to your car. Speakers mounted up front should be mounted with care especially if mounted on the doors. Doors are subjected to more vibrations as the driver and passengers slam the door now and then. Speakers should be mounted on vibration-absorbent material such as rubber or EVA (very similar to materials used on slippers or flip-flops). Speakers should be bolted to the door chassis and should be kept with appropriate distance from the window runners (window rails) to prevent excessive vibration as the windows are quite loose. You may also want to upgrade to amps if you're using a stock head unit. An amp will give more umph to your front speakers.Anyone out there with Alpine CD player with Glidetouch (CDA9855/9853etc)??

pretty much ANY speaker sounds good if you buy a small amp, and run the speakers off of that..if you hook them up to an amplifier, you will notice a MUCH clearer, crisper sound.Thinking about getting a kicker Zr1000 for my 2 12" JL Audio's?? GOOD OR BAD CHOICE??

go to an audio shop like American where they have both brands and listen to them both. In my opinion, xplodes really aren't that great. it's like getting jensen or something.the quality is just not there. there's very little frequency range in them and they can handle very little power. look into a brand that ONLY makes audio components for those will have a higher quality item and sound. I have all alpine gear and I love all of it, from the crashing cymbals to the low rumbling bass.Does anyone know how to install a cd player in a 03 chevy malibu?
If I were you I would try a few different things before you change your speakers, first try putting an amplifier on them if you don't already, the second thing I highly recommend some foam baffles behind your speakers if you have a little bit of room you can get these from parts express or www, partsexpress.com.this should clean up the bottom end a little bit and give you a little more dynamic range and more volume. hope this helps.
