Question:
so i am looking at putting a 300 watt amp and a 120 watt amp together in parallel. then hooking the wires up to a single voice coil amp. my sub handles 500 watt's. so i will be splitting the power wire taking that to both amps. then going as if i was going to hook up normally to a sub but take the wires from them solder them together to make 1 positive and 1 negativ wire then go to the sub. will this work. theroetically i should get 450 watts total power with the hook up
Answers:
How do you set gain on an amp?
No, you can't. The amps will fight each other and smoke. The output of an amp is AC and is another reason why it can't be done. To get the amps in perfect phase is not an easy task.Where can I find instructions on getting a radio in a 1998 Audi A4 out of "safe" mode?
It's never a good idea even to put two amps on a DVC (dual voice coil) as the difference in component values of each amp (even if identical) can cause the coils to heat unevenly and cause them to warp.
i have been an installer for a few years now and co-own my own shop.I WOULD NEVER DO THAT! You could buy a brand new cheap amp to get a lously 450 watts. As stated before the amps put out ac voltage and would cancel each other out or have the sub trying to play so fast it wouldn't hit any notes right.and to get the amps matched right would take hours, days, weeks and then you would only get as much power as the smaller amp is putting out.
