Got my desired system, will it work?

Question:
Ok, after much deliberation, I have finally come to a conclusion on my sound system setup. In a small trunked 88 Camaro, I'm going with 2 JL Audio 12w7's and a JL Audio 1000/1 amp hooked up to each sub (So 2 subs, 2 amps). My concern is the RMS on the amps are 1000, I haven't heard much on the RMS wattage of the w7's. I've heard they vary from 800 to 2000 RMS. I just don't know. Whatever it is, will 2 1000/1 amps safely and sufficiently power 2 12w7's?

if i were you i'd get smaller amps, or get one thats about 1500 watts rms. and no, it doesnt have to be JL audio. a lot of other comanys make great, and better, amps too.

It looks as if your are going for loud and since I worked as an audio installer for several years I can say this;
Big boom theory,
The lower your amp wattage, the bigger your box needs to be, and the opposite is, the higher your amp wattage, the smaller your box can be.
Knowing this if you go with the maximum wattage that your speakers can handle, your sub box should be built to JL's suggested box size. You can get the square footage from the spec sheet they give you with purchase or maybe get it from their web site.

Do rear speakers usually have a seperate fuse or connection on the stereo of a car?

i would say so...i have 2 12w6s with 1 jl 1000/1..jl audio rates the w7 at allmost twice as much as the w6 and i had an authorized jl dealer do the fine touches as in setting all the levels so it would hit as hard as possible without blowing.they had the amp set at about 65%

65% of 1 JL 1000/1 = 2 12w6
65% of 2 JL 1000/1 = 2 12w7? i think so
