Everyone says that Boss amps lie about how many watts their amps really put out. If I was going to run a pair of Kicker s12l7 4 ohms off of a Boss Exxtreme BLX4000 would i have the rms 3000W of power for the subs. or would it be lower? I would wire them at 1 ohm. If the amp does not put out the advertised 3000W at 1 ohm, about what does it put out?

it should be 1500watts x 2 at 1 ohm if youre wiring it that waywhy do crossovers have gain control on them if they dont act as amps?
I'm sorry to tell you it, but BOSS amps are a joke. My buddy has one running 3 10's and it didn't put out hardly ANY sound. They're no better than anything like Lanzar, jensen, or pyramid, which are all junk... I'd even throw sony in that category sadly. If you want to power a set of kicker l7's... you're going to need something better than that. I'd suggest at the MINIMUM a pioneer amp, but for kicker, i'd use their amps for the best power matching. my personal favorites are JL Audio slash series, and Alpine amplifiers. Theres also a brand called MMATS that are pro audio, but thats probably over your budget. You're just gonna ruin your subs with an amp like a boss.
