my 2 12" subs will be connected to me 1000 watt lanzar amp. i have a pretty good idea what im doing, but, im not sure what 1 ohm is. how do i get it that way? it is a mono amp so i will hook them up paralell.
also, i have some lanzar 6.5" that will go in my door. they have a crossover, and im not sure what to do there. do i connect the front and rear wires to the speaker? thanks for the help

Boss audio with kicker L7 good combo? BLX3500M amp inparticular?
First you have to be sure the amp can handle 1 ohm loads, not all of them can, especially when bridged.Dual Kicker 12's, or single Memphis 15??
Just because an amp is 1 ohm stable doesn't mean it's best to load it at that.
You're actually better off running a higher impedance(ohms) than lower, because lower impedances will:
I am planning on adding 2 speakers under my armrest in my car.?
1) cause the amp to run hotter and possibly shut down
2) increase THD (total harmonic distortion)
3) shorten the life of the amp due to excessive heat
Recommendations for sound system?
You get an all-around better system running at 1000 watts @ 4 ohm than you do 1000 watts @ 1 ohm. It's the same amount of power, but without killing your system.
The amp you buy should be CEA-2006 compliant.
Add up the watts RMS of the subs as this should be what the amp needs to push but you also need to know what the resulting impedance of the subs will be when wired together.
Can you replace the face plate to your car stero?
For instance, if your subs are 500 watts RMS @ 4 ohm each, then then you'll need an amp that's 1000 watts RMS @ 2 ohm with the subs wired like so http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/s...
Song titles on Car Radio with iPod?
To get a 4 ohm load, you'd need two 4 ohm DVC subs wired like so http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/s...
