What's the best kind of box to get the most of your woofers??

Question:
I just bought 2 sweet JL Audio 12W6v2's that handle 1000 Watts e/a. I mostly listen to Rap music and Im trying to get the most sound that I can out of them. What's the best enclosure that will make them sound really sick?

If you will be under-powering these with only 300-500 watts, I would say go with a bandpass, with vents in front and rear of the woofers. This would make for the best efficency of the subs, but you loose out on enclosure size, boomy sound, and power handling. Do not use pre-fab boxes for these subs. Pre-fabs are junk, and they are not calculated specifically for you woofers . Do some research for your enclosure dimension using the Theile/Small parameters.

If you will be putting 500+ watts at these subs,go with a straight sealed enclosure. They have better power handling, smoother sound, smaller size, and a big plus on ease of construction. Sealed enclosures are generally the best type for most subs.

Built your own boxes i do mine sound better than those from store cause i use better material heavier and thicker i use 3/4 inch wafer board go to stereo shop look at boxes take a tape see the one you like measure em and built your own. Use liquid nail on all the seams put it together with screws

If you can afford it I haven't seen anything beat independent fiberglass boxes. An installer friend of mine did an experimental test case on my car and they sound incredible. Twice as good as standard wood boxes

They will hit harder in a box.
For better extension (accuracy) do a proper free-air installation, that is, if they are rated for it.
