Is my factory-installed receiver good enough to power my new speakers?

Question:
i just bought 800 dollars worth of speakers, subs and amps for my car. i didn't buy a new reciever yet because i am out of money and i was gonna hook everything to my factory deck until i get the new one. my dad said i shouldn't even bother because the old reciever is too shitty and would basically make the whole process pointless. i was planning on having everything hooked up for a few weeks until i get my new reciever, and then simply replace that, but is that a good idea?

Are there any good online guides for installing car audio?

There is no problem at all using your factory head unit. Just make sure that you have a line level coverter, either there is already a high level input on the amp or buy a sepetare one at any car audio shop. It shouldn't cost anymore than $20. The sound will not be as good as a new aftermarket HU, but isn't that the fun of this hobby? You can hear the progress of your system by going in steps. Back in the day, I used a Sony walkman to front my system when my HU died, until I could buy a new one. It was actually pretty cool. Everyone would hear me thumping down the street. They would stop me and say, "what do you have in there?". I would say not much, just a Walkman. I would sometimes even hook up my piano/keyboard for poops and chuckles. God, I was one weird kid!!

Is this Pyramid 4000 watt amp any good?

If you spent all that money you might as well ook it up. The only thing is your factory receiver probably does not have RCA preamp outputs for your amps. You would have to go out and buy a line out converter that you can connect to your back speaker wire to hook the amps up to. It will all sound pretty shitty, but I'm sure that it will be better than the factory speakers. Just be careful if you have really good replacement. speakers. Good speakers usually take a lot more power than the factory deck will put out so it will be easy for them to distort and blow.

Radio fuse for 2004 taurus?

Well you want your amps to power your subs for sure...no deck is going to handle that. With the car audio set ups i've done, if i'm running more than 300watts (rms) of bass. Then I want amps powering my door speakers (and not stock door speakers) also, as most decks factory or aftermarket may not be enough. If your going to try it anyways, just remember to take the bass down on your deck so the door speakers arent trying to reproduce bass. Then compensate with the gain on the bass amp. Bass is what will kill your door speakers.

Is Audiobahn Car Audio a good company.?

I think it's not a good idea bro. Just wait and get you new stuff. The factory stuff are a no no. Wasted of time cause it's weak. When you do get your stuff, make sure you don't thump a lot around some part of the area because your stuff will get jack.

I suggest after a long day of good music to the public, take you system out for a few days and re hook.

Adding a JL 300/4 speaker amp to my system... What difference will it make?

When I had my $3,000 system in my car, I did than and guess what, one day some one pop my car but there was nothing inside. So it's a good idea to take it out and put it inside the house. Sometime people target you when they hear your music. They'll try to see where you go and pop ur system.
