Actually you might want to purchase a box. You will get better sound from your subs if you find a box matched to them. If the box is matched, your sound frequencies will resonate more, giving you more boom for less buck (more speakers or bigger amps).

well it they always say the more air space the better they thump but it all consists on what kind of car and watts u give them and that they can take. if u have a suv and can fit a pretty big box itll sound good but if u have a pickup u would need a smaller box. and what type it is also depends on ur vehicle best option to go to a speaker place so they can tell u what u need.
