Question:
i have a 2003 mitsu. lancer, and has a HUGE hole for a door speaker! i can't find any decent components (the tweeters i'll flush mount on the door itself) to fit, and i'm having a heck of a time making an adapter. any help on either a decent 6.75" or on building an adapter plate would be greatly appreciated.

There are many various makers of an "oversized" 6.5". It all depends on your price range. crutchfield.com has a nice feature where you can input your car's information and it will search for speakers that will fit your car. Now with that information in hand, you can search anywhere for the best price on the system you decide on.I bought a JBL P1024. Its rated at 400 rms and 1200 peak. Wondering what amp matches best?
If you really want to make an adapter, it is really quite simple. Take a piece of paper and pencil, and trace the opening of the speaker hole and mounting edge. Transfer that paper to a piece of 1/4 inch mdf or equivelent wood and cut it out with a jigsaw or router.
